Body Color

This beautifully designed Leonardo da Vinci's helicopter pendant light is reminiscent of his "aerial screw" drawings from the 1480s. It will surely be a conversation piece the second someone sees it in your home!

The Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci drew his design for an "aerial screw" in the late 1480s, while he was employed as a military engineer by Ludovico SforzaDuke of Milan from 1494 to 1499. The "aerial screw" was one of several aerial machines drawn by Leonardo, including an early parachute, an ornithopter and a hang glider.

Leonardo was fascinated by the phenomenon of flight for much of his life, producing many studies, including Codex on the Flight of Birds (c. 1505).
